GAWU elects new Central Executive Committee

Following the successful conclusion of the 19th Congress of the Guyana Agricultural and General Workers Union (GAWU) which among other things elected a fifty-two (52) member General Council, the Council at its first meeting held on September 19, 2009 elected the following persons as members of the Central Executive Committee:-

2nd Vice President: Gaietri Baron
General Secretary: Seepaul Narine
Asst General Secretary: Derek Thakur
Treasurer: Rooplall Persaud
Organising Secretary: Ramnarase Tiwari

The Central Executive Committee has the responsibility to manage the affairs of the Union between meetings of the General Council which meets quarterly.
