GAWU Small Band for this Friday’s parade
The Guyana Agricultural and General Workers Union (GAWU) is again contributing its members presence and creativity to this year’s Mashramani Float Parade and Costume Band event on Republic Day. Come Friday 23, some one hundred GAWU revelers from the Union’s membership in the agriculture, fisheries and forestry sections mainly, will participate in a small to medium costume band. Under the theme: Our Culture, Our Country, On Show For You, For Me, Mashramani the revelers of varied backgrounds will join the other bands in Georgetown and the National Park in celebratory gaiety befitting Mashramani the celebration after a collective effort. The modest Mash Camp for the Band this year is housed at the Union’s Headquarters in Kingston, Georgetown.
